As any Star Wars fan worth their salt is well aware, Life Day is a holiday of Wookiee tradition that celebrates family, joy, and harmony as depicted in the infamous Star Wars Holiday Special. Thus November 17th, the date of the release of the special, has become the official date for Life Day. Marvel will apparently be getting into the Life Day spirit with the announcement of all-new variant covers!
These covers from artists Mike Del Mundo and Rod Reis “feature characters from throughout various eras of Star Wars storytelling, including nods to the original Star Wars Holiday Special. Fans can enjoy heartwarming moments like young Anakin Skywalker sharing a meal with his mother Shmi, Han Solo and Chewie decorating, Chef Gormaanda whipping up a delicious feast, and Doctor Aphra and Krrsantan reuniting for the season!”
Without a doubt the highlight has to be Chef Gormaanda, the four-armed species and a four-star-rated chef as played by Harvey Korman in the original Star Wars Holiday Special. With her famous line, “Stir, whip, stir, whip, beat, beat, stir!” Gormaanda is basically the Julia Childs of the Star Wars Universe.
