The say opposites attract, but no one could have guessed the house sounds of John Summit and dubstep bangers of DJ Diesel may soon meet behind the decks.
Summit, who recently rebranded his Off The Grid record label as Experts Only, took to X (formerly Twitter) to express interest in DJing alongside Shaq. While Summit’s post was certainly designed for laughs and steeped in his signature tongue-in-cheek tone, Diesel didn’t skip a beat with his response a few days later: “Soon summit, soon.”
If the two do end up going b2b together, it’ll be one of the year’s most viral DJ sets.
Diesel has been hard at work lately, throwing his own curated music festival, “Shaq’s Bass All Stars,” and performing at Lost Lands, Tomorrowland and many more. The NBA Hall of Famer also released his debut electronic album, GORILLA WARFARE, on Monstercat.
Summit, meanwhile, recently headlined ARC Music Festival in his hometown, Chicago. The full performance is available to watch on YouTube. He’s now gearing up to perform with Dom Dolla under the duo’s collaborative alias, Everything Always, in Michigan on October 20th before playing Miami’s III Points festival and a surefire instant-classic night at Club Space.
