N.O.R.E. and Charlamagne Tha God, who are among the most notable personalities in Hip Hop media, aren’t particularly thrilled about Yung Miami getting more credit than them.

On Tuesday (October 10), Caresha Please was awarded the Best Hip Hop Platform at the 2023 BET Hip Hop Awards, winning over heavyweights such as Drink Champs, The Breakfast Club, Million Dollaz Worth of Game and The Joe Budden Podcast.

In the early hours of Wednesday (October 11), N.O.R.E. tweeted: “So nobody gonna say nothing bout the podcast /media award?  Ok me neither !!!”

Charlamagne also addressed the loss a little later on air, saying: “If Caresha Please did come out weekly, I won’t have a problem with it, y’know what I’m sayin,’ because it is that good when she drops, right, but I just don’t see enough of it for her to win Hip Hop Platform of the Year two years in a row.”

Without directly addressing him, the City Girls rapper appeared to clap back at the Breakfast Club host, tweeting: “I love Caresha (BUT) bitch take your hating ass on! Ain’t no but bitch!!!”

Elsewhere at the ceremony, Kendrick Lamar reasserted his status as “King Kendrick” and emerged as the night’s biggest winner. The Compton native took home a total of four trophies at the annual awards show, which was held at Atlanta’s Cobb Energy Performing Arts Center earlier this month and televised a week later on October 10.

Sweeping every category he was nominated in, the 36-yeaar-old won Hip Hop Artist of the Year, Lyricist of the Year, Best Live Performer and Video Director of the Year alongside his longtime collaborator Dave Free.

K. Dot made history with these victories, becoming the first rapper to win Hip Hop Artist of the Year three times, extending his lead in the Lyricist of the Year category with a ninth win.

He’s also tied with Kanye West and JAY-Z for most Best Live Performer wins with four and is the first director to snag back-to-back Video Director of the Year awards since Hype Williams, who won four consecutive times between 2009 and 2012.

Kendrick owes his trophy haul to the success of his 2022 album, Mr. Morale & The Big Steppers, its accompanying Big Steppers Tour, “The Hillbillies” collaboration with Baby Keem and the music videos for “Count Me Out” and “Rich Spirit.”
