Jeannie Mai seems to be in good spirits after the news of the rapper Jeezy filing for divorce.
In a new interview with Entertainment Tonight, Jeannie Mai was asked about the photo she posted on Instagram last night (October 11) where she said, “sometimes you need to take a break and disconnect.” After her first post since the shocking news made rounds on social media the tv host says she taking everything “day by day.”

“I’m taking it day by day and thankfully being able to have a show like this and to come to work and be able to do something you enjoy doing to get your mind off of things. You know right now I’m just focusing on Monaco, I’m focusing on things I’m passionate about and shoot when your surrounded by people you just get to laugh and look at the things you enjoy doing in life then you get through it,” she shared.
As we previously reported, Page Six share an article where a source spoke on why they might’ve called it quits. According to the report the rapper reportedly had different opinions when it came to “certain family values and expectations,” in their marriage. As we all know now, this is what could’ve led Jeezy to take the first move and file for divorce. “They had different views, and each felt like their needs weren’t being completely met,” the insider added.
Page Six obtained court documents that stated Jeezy claimed his marriage was “irretrievably broken.” He also asked for joint legal custody of their 1-year-old daughter, Monaco. Furthermore, in the court documents it was revealed that he and the TV host have a prenuptial agreement in place.

The source also claimed, that the tv host is “devastated” that her marriage might be coming to an end and “wants her family unit back,” according to the source that spoke to the news outlet. “The truth is Jeannie wants her marriage to work, and wants her family to be one solid unit,” the source said. “She is devastated that Jeezy filed for divorce.” The source also added, despite the divorce filing, “[Jeannie] deeply loves Jeezy, and she wants to work things out. She did not get married to get divorced. This was not a part of the plan. This is not how she ever imagined things would go down.”
“Even though Jeezy has filed, Jeannie is holding out hope that he would be willing to sit down and works things [out]. She is hoping for a resolution and wants to remain as a united family unit,” the source concluded. As we all know the news hit the internet last week when it was announced Jeezy was calling it quits with Jeannie Mai just one year after they welcomed their daughter Monaco to the world.
