Issa Rae and Syreeta Singleton’s second season of “Rap Sh!t” is finally on the way. Season two was initially delayed until the fall due to the WGA strike and the ongoing SAG-AFTRA strike. But fans have more comedy and banging music to look forward to when the show returns next month.

Max announced the show’s original return date and released the first glimpse at season two on July 10. It shows Shawna (Aida Osman) and Mia (KaMillion) navigating the shaky start to their budding rap careers. The season two trailer, which arrived on Oct. 19, teases that the rap duo’s newfound fame following their big break in the season one finale isn’t all that it’s cracked up to be (literally), from management issues to tour-life problems.

“Rap Sh!t” made a huge splash last summer after shining a light on Miami’s hip-hop scene through the lens of two up-and-coming women emcees who couldn’t be more different. Its social media angle and City Girls-esque plot drew viewers in, whereas its vibrant hip-hop soundtrack full of old hits and original tracks kept the buzz going.

In a July 2022 interview with POPSUGAR, KaMillion said she and Osman were a “match made in heaven.” She also heaped praise on Rae. “[‘Rap Sh!t’] taught me that Black girls rock, and all they have to do is work hard and continue to open doors for other Black girls — shout out to Issa Rae!” KaMillion said. “We are walking in her blessings . . . I’m talking about Issa Rae the legend, the Issaverse, baby. It taught me that Issa runs the world, pretty much.”

Read ahead for everything we know about “Rap Sh!t” season two.
