RHONY’s Brynn Whitfield & Sai De Silva’s Past Evictions Revealed

Brynn Whitfield and Sai De Silva were reportedly both evicted in the past, after allegedly owing thousands of dollars in back rent for their respective NYC apartments. 

The Real Housewives of New York stars began the new season as best friends, before the finale episode unveiled an argument regarding an off-camera conversation about castmate Ubah Hassan.

According to court records obtained by The U.S. Sun, Brynn was evicted from the studio in NYC for “not paying nearly $7,000 in rent” in 2014.

A year earlier, Brynn first rented the apartment, which has one room and boasts of being big enough to contain a queen-sized bed.

As the one-year lease ended, the landlord alleged it stayed month-to-month, per the court docs.

Brynn was reportedly served the eviction notice in August 2014, as the rent had become $2,500 a month.

“The respondent continues to be in possession of the premise without the permission of the Petitioner-Landlord after the expiration of said term,” wrote the landlord’s lawyer. The star allegedly owed rent for the months of July, October, November and December of 2013.

She seemingly continued to not pay in January and February of 2014. That October, the owner of the property requested that a “final judgment be entered against the respondent [Brynn and undertenants Jane and John Doe], issue a warrant of eviction to remove respondents from possession thereof, and that a judgment be issued for the rent arrears.”

After Brynn lost the case, she was ordered to pay what was owed.

According to the same outlet, Brynn at the moment has back taxes totaling $30,000. Per the report, she owes $11,359 in California, where she previously resided, and owes $16,487 to the IRS.

The U.S. Sun also reported that Sai, her costar, was previously evicted after owing more than $12,000 in rent.

The outlet obtained documents claiming Sai was in a Manhattan studio apartment within a luxury building when the rent was owed.

The eviction came after she allegedly fell behind on rent for several months. Her financial troubles reportedly went back to August of 2009, when she received a notice saying the proceedings would soon commence.

Sai’s response? She was behind in payments because of a sublease arrangement, though she planned to pay the outstanding debt by February 2010 – and wished to renew that lease.

The building’s lawyer claimed Sai also owed $1,000 in marshal and legal fees, in addition to $2,008.17 for February rent.

By February 17 of that year, the star asked for permission to “move all my possessions out of the apartment by the end of the month.” She was eventually allowed to retrieve her possessions in March, and the documents indicated she paid back much of the alleged debt.

Now, Sai lives in a $4.7 million luxury property in Brooklyn.
