Hugh Jackman and Deborra-lee Furness may have announced their split in September, but that doesn’t mean everything they built in their 27 years of marriage is erased.
Although Jackman, 55, and Furness, 67, are “both on different pages and in separate chapters of their lives”, according to one source, the former couple – who first met on the set of Aussie television show Corelli in 1995 – “still maintain a happy and cordial friendship”.
“They felt like it was time to divorce,” the source told Entertainment Tonight of the separation, before revealing further details about where their relationship stands now, more than a month on from the announcement.

“They are appreciative of their many years together and children and there is no animosity between them,” the source added, noting the former couple “only want the best” for each other.
The source claims it was Jackman and Furness’ “collective agreement” to break up and “do the healthiest thing for everyone involved” in the situation.
Said healthiest thing, according to the source, is “putting their family first”, an approach that was the “primary motto” and formed the foundation of the duo’s relationship and “loving and communicative family”.
”They are working towards maintaining that balance with each other and their kids,” the source said.
