Welp, Mike Pence will be hanging up his cleats early as he has dropped out of the 2024 presidential race.
During a speech at the Republican Jewish Coalition Conference, Pence said, “It’s become clear to me it’s not my time. After much prayer and deliberation, I have decided to suspend my campaign for president effective today,” he said.“We always knew this would be an uphill battle, but I have no regrets.”
His spokesperson Devin O’Malley also released a statement explaining why Pence chose the convention for the announcement, “The conflict in Israel is a microcosm of what Pence has been evangelizing regarding populism and traditional conservative values.”
He added, “RJC provided him one last opportunity to make that case and do so in front of a supportive audience,” O’Malley said.

The former Vice President is now the first major candidate to leave a race that has been dominated by his former boss Mr. Donald Trump.Pence’s move comes amid reports that his campaign had been struggling to gain traction ever since he announced his run back in June.
As we previously reported, Pence jumped into the race with a video released where he spoke about the January 6 Capitol attacks. While announcing his candidacy in Ankeny, Iowa, on June 7 he said, “My former running mate continues to insist that I had the right to overturn the 2020 election,” Pence said. “President Trump is wrong. I will always believe by God’s grace I did my duty that day.”
“The American people deserve to know on that fateful day, President Trump also demanded I choose between him and our Constitution,” Pence remembered. “Now voters will be faced with the same choice. I chose the constitution and I always will.”
Meanwhile, Trump who is currently the front-runner for the 2024 GOP nomination, still plans to take on the race even despite his legal charges piling up. In June, Trump pledged to continue his 2024 presidential campaign, saying he would campaign from prison if necessary.
“I’ll never leave,” the former US president told Politico in an interview. He also dismissed the possibility of pardoning himself, telling the outlet: “I didn’t do anything wrong.”
