HBO’s ‘The White Lotus’ Season 3 & ‘Welcome To Derry’ Pushed To 2025 – Deadline

Guests won’t be able to check in to the third season of The White Lotus until 2025.

HBO has revealed that it has pushed the third installment of the Mike White-created series, as well as IT spinoff Welcome To Derry into 2025.

It comes as a result of the writers and actors strikes.

“We had had [Welcome To Derry] scheduled for Halloween ’24 but it will likely pushing into ’25. White Lotus Season 3, that was going to be ’24 and that’s likely moving into 2025,” said HBO CEO Casey Bloys.

The White Lotus is heading to Thailand for its third season after the first season was shot in Maui, Hawaii and season two was in Sicily, Italy.

The third season will feature a new cast, as season two did, albeit with Jennifer Coolidge’s Tanya. Whether she will be back given what happened at the end of season two is obviously up in the air.

Meanwhile, Welcome To Derry is set in the world of Stephen King’s IT and comes from Andy Muschietti, Barbara Muschietti and Jason Fuchs. It is based on the novels and expands on the story in the films IT and IT Chapter Two.

It stars Madeleine Stowe, Stephen Rider Taylour Paige, Jovan Adepo, Chris Chalk, and James Remar.

Welcome to Derry is produced by HBO Max and Warner Bros. Television. Fuchs will write the teleplay for the first episode, based on a story by the Muschiettis and himself. Fuchs and Brad Caleb Kane will serve as co-showrunners on the project. The Muschiettis (through their Double Dream production company, which has an overall deal with WBTV), Fuchs, and Kane are executive producers. Shelley Meals, Roy Lee and Dan Lin also executive produce.
