Sylvester Stallone’s personal life has officially been laid bare like never before with the release of his Netflix documentary Sly.
And while the 77-year-old Rocky star spent a majority of the 90-minute run-time speaking about his tumultuous childhood, his late son, and the ups and downs of his decades-long career in Hollywood, he also briefly opened up about his wife, Jennifer Flavin, and their three daughters.
In the documentary, Stallone said his wife and three daughters struggled seeing him injured on the set of the first The Expendables film.
He then said he went on to realise taking care of his family is more important than his work in film.
“There’s always that regret. I could have learned so much more if I hadn’t been so self-absorbed and dealing with other people,” Stallone says in the documentary.
“You think about what you should have done at this age. And now they’re this age. What did I mess up on? I’m there making a stupid movie instead of making their life.”
He then seemingly alluded to his and Flavin’s brief split in 2022: ”I had to almost lose it to respect it.”
Following the documentary’s premiere on Netflix on November 3, his daughter Sophia Stallone took to Instagram with a message for her dad.
“Proud of you!!!”, she wrote on her Instagram Story, alongside a selfie with her father.
