Looks like Soulja Boy has had a change of heart as he apologizes to J. Cole after dragging the North Carolina rapper these past couple of days!

As we previously shared, J. Cole recently spoke out about Big Soulja and admitted that he somewhat used to be a Soulja Boy hater. During a recent interview on Lil Yachty‘s ‘A Safe Place Podcast,’ J. Cole admitted he used to dislike Soulja Boy’s 2007 hit single “Crank Dat.”
Cole claimed that when Soulja’s video for the song dropped he wasn’t impressed. Cole said, “When Soulja Boy was coming out … You gotta think, my favorite rappers was [Tu]Pac, Nas, JAY[-Z], André 3000 … And I was kind of living a double life. I had my rapper life, where I had music friends in the city, a lot of them were older and mentors. Then, I had my real friends that I would be hanging out with.”

Cole added, “My real friends was playing Three 6 Mafia, Lil Jon when he came out, whatever the f**k was popping, whatever new rendition of Black culture was penetrating, like new music coming up in the South, they was on. A lot of that sh*t for me, artistically and what I stood for morally as an artist, I was conflicted. On one hand, we’re partying all the time to this music, and on the other hand I’m like, ‘Man, this sh*t goes against everything that I think that I am.’ I had some fake morals about myself.”
Cole continued, “Around the time Soulja Boy came out, I don’t know how this happened but, I had a realization within myself. ‘Cause I’m hearing that sh*t and I’m like, ‘Man this sh*t. ‘Soulja Boy Tell ’em.” Sounds crazy to say now ’cause it’s such a classic to me. But at that time, I had resistance … And there was literally a part of me that had a realization: I was proud of myself for this realization. So I was like ‘Bruh, you a hater. Like, yo you are literally hating. You know you like this sh*t, actually. So why are you fronting on this n***a, like?”

After catching wind of the viral comments, Soulja Boy hopped on X (formerly Twitter) and went on a rant, dragging J. Cole. Soulja began, “Aye bruh don’t speak on me. I’m not Lil Pump, Drake, or none of these rapper n***az. On God.”
Then things escalated. SB tweeted, “You a b*tch, J. Cole. F**k you and ya fans. N***az will slap the sh*t out you, f**k your opinion dirty stank dreads having a** b*tch. P***y n***a, I wrote and produced a #1 record at 17 in 2006. Drake just gave you your first #1 this year. Sit the f**k down, n***a. You not all that, J. Cole. You don’t got a #1 solo record, I do. Just know you’re signed to a 360 deal and get 20% of your money. I own my label and get 100% of EVERYTHING. J. Cole, stay in your lane. You an industry puppet.”
SB continued, “F**k clout. F**k fame. F**k streams. Don’t want me replying to sh*t, don’t speak on me. J. Cole, you a b*tch and it’s stamped. Keep my name out your mouth. I’m not one of them. I don’t care what you was trying to say.”

Nearly an hour after his last volatile tweet towards J. Cole, Soulja Boy then updated fans that he spoke with Nicki Minaj, who helped him come to his senses. SB wrote, “Nicki just told me I took what he said wrong. And that he was showing love. So I’m gonna let it go. My bad y’all, I really thought dude was hating on me.”
SB then sent another tweet directed at Cole and said, “My bad dawg. J. Cole, sorry for the confusion. Keep doing your sh*t. We from two different worlds. I stand on what I stand on. It’s hard coming from where I did man. I dealt with a lot of hate my whole career, so it was just messed [up] to think it would come from you.”
