A California podcast host has been sentenced to five years in prison for stalking a Black woman he met through his platform.

Christopher Au-Young,36, stalked the victim for three months and made racist threats after she rejected his advances. According to the Miami Herald, Au-Young arrived at the victim’s home in the middle of the night after driving three hours plus publically shared her real name and address on several YouTube videos, federal prosecutors said in a press release. As a result, she moved out of her home.
Several other victims have come forward and said he has exhibited similar behaviors toward them. One woman broke up with Au-Young, and he began to threaten her and her family members, which included her children and brother. He also told her, “I don’t care if I go to jail over this…watch your back…sleep with one eye open.

Au-Young posted a video asking anyone to provide information about her location and offered $4,000. In July, he pleaded guilty to six counts of stalking five victims. The first victim believed he intentionally targeted black women through his actions, podcast, and made several references to mass shooter Dylan Roof along with racist statements.
“Victim 2”, the woman he previously dated, said Au-Young drove from California to Illinois and planned to vandalize her car, plus stalked her for three days. A concerned viewer saw one of his YouTube videos and alerted authorities. Au-Young was found in the backseat of his vehicle, and prosecutors said it was parked outside of her daughter’s job.
Police found duct tape, a baseball bat, a GPS device, female clothing, and a picture of victim 2’s daughter with an X across her face. He also mailed racist threats to the woman’s son and posted racist videos threatening him.
“Victim 4 is the son of Victim 2. Like Victims 2 and 3, Au-Young posted racist, threatening, and defaming videos to the internet, threatening to come after Victim 4. In addition to the videos, Au-Young mailed approximately four letters to Victim 4. Au-Young’s typed letters called Victim 4 and his family racial epithets [n-word] and contained threats to come after them.”
Au-Young also accused victim 2’s brother of pedophilia and made false allegations along with sending letters to his local church where he worked as a minister.
