A$AP Rocky allegedly threatened to kill A$AP Relli during a 2021 shooting that left the latter wounded.
Testifying in court on Wednesday (November 8), Relli, whose real name is Terell Ephron, detailed his relationship with the superstar rapper and their eventual falling out.
According to Ephron, tensions between the two ignited after Rocky allegedly promised to help the family of a deceased member of the A$AP Mob, but apparently never did.
The two later arranged to meet at a Los Angeles hotel on November 6, 2021. According to Ephron, A$AP Rocky arrived with multiple men and pointed a gun at his stomach and said: “I’ll kill you right now.”
Ephron testified that he was shot shortly afterwards and claims Rocky shot him four times — including once in the hand — before fleeing the scene.
Grainy video footage of the alleged shooting was shown for the first time during Wednesday’s court hearing. Obtained by Rolling Stone, the clip shows a scuffle at a Los Angeles intersection with the group later scattering and one notably running away.
Ephron is also suing A$AP Rocky and his lawyer Joe Tacopina for defamation, alleging the attorney of launching a media campaign against him that paints him as a liar.
Commenting on the lawsuit, Tacopina hit back, saying: “This is actually nothing more than a publicity stunt which is going to backfire badly. I more than welcome this lawsuit especially because the resolution of the criminal case has not happened yet.”
Rocky was present in court during Ephron’s testimony and has already pleaded not guilty to the charges, which include two counts of assault with a semiautomatic firearm.
Footage obtained by TMZ shows him signing autographs after the proceedings had wrapped for the day. When asked by paparazzi how he feels, he confidently replied: “I feel how I look — good.”
The “Fucking Problems” rapper was arrested in April 2022 after landing back in the U.S. with his girlfriend Rihanna following a trip to Barbados. He was released from jail on a $550,000 bond.
Rihanna has not yet been seen at the trial, where if convicted, Rocky could face up to nine years in prison. The couple have two children together.
It’s not the first time that A$AP Rocky has found himself in legal trouble. He spent time in Rikers Island as a teen for allegedly shooting at a rival drug dealer and was later imprisoned in Sweden for assault.
The case continues in court on Thursday afternoon (November 9).
