Kate Carin, an Emmy award-winning costume designer who is working on the new period drama, dressed Winslet back in 1998 on the film Hideous Kinky.
It was during filming Hideous Kinky that Winslet met Threapleton’s father, Jim.
”She’s definitely one to watch,” Carin told HELLO! of the young actress.
“I think it’s a blessing and a curse to be the daughter of somebody as well-known as Kate, but Mia is magical. I feel as though she’s got the whole world ahead of her.”

What does Mia Threapleton do?
Threapleton is a working actress.
In 2020, she made her on-screen debut in an Italian series titled Shadows, where she played the lead role of Alma.
She played a teen coming of age in a world where she must avoid contact with daylight and its shadows to survive.
Threapleton’s acting talents again shone brightly in 2022 when she starred opposite her mother in an episode of the gritty UK anthology TV series, I Am Ruth.
She is currently among the stars of the Apple TV + period drama, The Buccaneers.
In 2021 Winslet opened up about her daughter’s career plans in an interview with Lorraine.
“What’s great for her is she has a different surname so she slipped under the radar and the people who cast her didn’t know she was my daughter,” Winslet said.
“That was important for her self-esteem of course.”
The proud mother said she “always suspected” her daughter would act, and didn’t flinch when “she turned around and said ‘I’d like to give it a go.'”

She told Variety, the script was the first she’d read before making her acting debut.
“I couldn’t believe my luck,” she said. “I read it and didn’t put it down, which is admitting a lot because I’m dyslexic and that means I have to read slowly and steadily to be able to absorb things fully sometimes.”
She also had a minor appearance in Winslet’s TV series A Little Chaos in 2014.

Does Mia Threapleton have siblings?
Threapleton is Winslet’s eldest of three children and only daughter.
Her step-siblings are 19-year-old son Joe, whom Winslet shares with her ex-husband Sam Mendes. She also has a step-brother, Bear Blaze Winslet, nine, who Winslet welcomed with her husband Edward Abel Smith.
Threapleton also has step-siblings on her father’s side.
Following her father’s split from Winslet, he married Julie Vuorinen, and they welcomed daughters, Olivia, 14 and Georgia, 10.
