Cassie has announced that she and Diddy have come to an agreement, settling their sexual assault lawsuit just one day after it made its way into the headlines.
According to the New York Post, the decision to settle was agreed upon on Friday (November 17) — just a day after the “Me and You” singer’s lawsuit was filed in Manhattan federal court.
“I have decided to resolve this matter amicably on terms that I have some level of control,” Cassie (real name Casandra Ventura) said in a statement (via the Post). “I want to thank my family, fans and lawyers for their unwavering support.”
Diddy (real name Sean Combs) shared his own statement, in which he explained the former couple had come to an agreement amicably.
“We have decided to resolve this matter amicably,” he said. “I wish Cassie and her family all the best.”
No details about the settlement have been disclosed.
In her original suit, which was filed on Thursday (November 16), Cassie claimed that Diddy subjected her to a pattern of physical and emotional abuse throughout their roughly decade-long relationship.
Her complaint included shocking allegations such as Diddy beating her “multiple times a year,” plying her with “copious amounts” of drugs and forcing her to have sex with male prostitutes while he filmed and masturbated to the encounters.
The singer also claimed that towards the end of their relationship in 2018, the 54-year-old record executive forced his way into her apartment and raped her while she “repeatedly said ‘no’ and tried to push him away.”
Puff was also alleged to have orchestrated a plan to blow up Kid Cudi‘s car in 2012 after he discovered that Cassie was dating the “Day ‘N’ Nite” rapper. A rep for Cudi confirmed to The New York Times that one of his cars exploded in his driveway.
The singer’s lawyer, Douglas Wigdor, said that before the suit was filed, Diddy “offered Ms. Ventura eight figures to silence her and prevent the filing of this lawsuit,” but “she rejected his efforts.”
The suit, which named Diddy and a number of his associated companies as defendants, was seeking unspecified damages.

Diddy denied all of the allegations in a statement issued on Thursday via his attorney Ben Brafman.
“Mr. Combs vehemently denies these offensive and outrageous allegations,” the statement began. “For the past six months, Mr. Combs has been subjected to Ms. Ventura’s persistent demand of $30million, under the threat of writing a damaging book about their relationship, which was unequivocally rejected as blatant blackmail.
“Despite withdrawing her initial threat, Ms. Ventura has now resorted to filing a lawsuit riddled with baseless and outrageous lies, aiming to tarnish Mr. Combs’s reputation and seeking a payday.”
