Deadpool 3 seems to be setting Ryan Reynolds’ Wade Wilson up to finally face the music alongside Hugh Jackman’s Wolverine. It’s now been confirmed that music will be created by Stranger Things composer Rob Simonsen.
Rob Simonsen’s role in Deadpool 3 was confirmed by yet another Stranger Things alum, Shawn Levy, who serves as the director of the film. Levy posted the confirmation on Twitter with two crossed swords similar to those wielded by Ryan Reynolds’ titular Merc with a Mouth, with Simonsen confirming in kind.
Deadpool 3 and Stranger Things are far from the only feathers in Rob Simonsen’s cap. Simonsen has worked on critically-acclaimed projects like The Whale and large fandom films like Ghostbusters: Afterlife. It’s clear he has a history of both the epic and the weird, so fans of Ryan Reynolds’ raunchy superhero flick shouldn’t hold any fear.
Who else is attached to the Deadpool threequel?
Shawn Levy is directing Deadpool 3 after working with Ryan Reynolds on Free Guy and The Adam Project. The upcoming Marvel Studios project also marks a reunion between Levy and Hugh Jackman as the two worked together on Real Steel.
Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick are developing the Deadpool 3 script after penning the first two installments in the series. The Molyneux sisters worked on a previous draft of the project.
