Jeremy Renner recently shared an update on his health and recovery since the incredibly scary snowplow accident that left him with life-threatening injuries. He specifically talks about all of the different kinds of therapies that he’s gone through to help on his road to recovery. He said on Instagram:
“I have been exploring EVERY type of therapy since Jan 14th. Everyday, countless hours of physical therapy, peptide injections, iv drips and pushes, stem cell and exosomes, red light / IR therapy, hyperbaric chamber 2.0 atmospheres, cold plunge, and the list goes on and on.”
He then goes on to highlight his greatest therapy saying:
“BUT my greatest therapy has been my mind and the will to be here and push to recover and be better…. Be exceptional… I feel it’s my duty to do so. Not to squander my life being spared , but to give back to my family, friends, and all of you whom have empowered me to endure . I thank you all.”
This guy went through a horrific experience and you know that his journey since then has been incredibly hard and painful, but he’s freakin’ pushing through it like a champion! It’s pretty awesome to see how far he’s come since the accident. In a previous interview Renner offered the following update:
“I just feel very blessed and very lucky to be upright and walk around and to live life. I’m very, very clear. My life is really lean, if that makes sense. There’s no fat in my life anymore. I don’t have time for that. So, there’s something really beautiful about having that superpower. I was really clear about how I want to spend my time, and who I want to spend my time with. This to me feels like family, sort of lifestyle things we talk about all the time. And then we have the spirit itself, it’s much more the shared experience. And that to me is where I want to spend my time.
“There is a lot of gifts that I received because of it. When you’re tested physically, emotionally, spiritually, in every way, and then to come through it, that’s something hard to explain. Perseverance. Strength. It’s all a mental game. I put it in my back pocket now. I know how to deal with pain. It’s all mind. It’s all in the mind. If you can sift through the fog of it all, I am very blessed.”
The accident took place while Renner was plowing snow in the driveway of his Lake Tahoe home on New Year’s Day. When he tried to stop the snow tractor from sliding and hitting his nephew, he was pulled under and crushed. The Hawkeye actor was airlifted to a hospital where he was treated for “blunt chest trauma and orthopedic injuries.”
It’s so great to see Renner in good health, and he serves as an inspiration to a lot of people.
