Based on the webcomic of the same Korean title by writer Park Seong-hyun, Unlock My Boss is a South Korean mystery comedy-drama series. It revolves around Park In-seong, a young man struggling to find a job in Seoul. His life changes when he finds a talking smartphone that claims to be the soul of Kim Seon-joo, the president of Silver Lining IT company. With the help of Jung Se-yeon, an employee of Silver Lining, In-seong begins investigating what really happened to Seon-joo.
Season 1 originally aired on ENA between December 7, 2022, and January 12, 2023, and is available on Netflix in selected countries. If you are wondering whether there will be a second season of Unlock My Boss, we got you covered.
Here’s all we know about Unlock My Boss Season 2 and whether or not it’s coming out.
Is there an Unlock My Boss Season 2 release date?
There is no Unlock My Boss Season 2 release date as the series had come to a conclusion by the end of season 1.
TV shows that are South Korean in origin, or East Asian in general, do not often have more than one season. While a considerable number of exceptions exist, this is how TV shows are generally formatted in that part of the world. In the season 1 finale, it is hinted that Seon-joo might wake up from the coma he has been in since his apparent disappearance. In-seong and Se-yeon become a couple, and the former decides to try out acting. Meanwhile, the primary antagonist, Mi-ran, is arrested. As Unlock My Boss has managed to tie up most of its plot threads in season 1, the sophomore season is unlikely to happen.
The cast includes Chae Jong-hyeop as Park In-seong, Seo Eun-soo as Jung Se-yeon, Park Sung-woong as Kim Seon-joo, Lee Sang-hee as Oh Mi-ran, Kim Sung-oh as Ma-pi, Jung Dong-hwan as Oh Young-geun, Kim Byeong-chun as Kwak Sam-soo, Ki So-yu as Kim Min-ah, Heo Ji-na as Jung Ji-hye, and more.
