Sutton Stracke Clarifies Off-Camera Drama With Kathy Hilton

Sutton Stracke is sharing new details of her off-camera drama with Kathy Hilton as Kyle Richards slams Sutton as “two-faced” after the latest episode of The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills.

After Sutton, 52, mentioned Kyle’s drama with her sister, Kathy Hilton, 64, amid an argument, Kyle, 54, accused her of being “very different” off-camera as Sutton admitted to her own “scary” experience with Kathy and both Dorit Kemsley, 47, and Crystal Kung-Minkoff, 40, questioned how close Sutton and Kathy actually are and Kyle reacted to Sutton’s suggestion that she’s in “denial.”

“I was thinking to myself, ‘Gosh, you know, this is a very different Sutton than I’ve seen,’” Kyle recalled of her spat with Sutton on the December 7 episode of the RHOBH: After Show. “She’s shared things with me about an issue she had with my sister Kathy, where Kathy had said something to her. But when the cameras are up and people are around, she speaks a very different tune so I was really at my wits end with her two-faced behavior.”

According to Kyle, her experience with Sutton on-camera is very different from her experience with her castmate off-camera.

“I don’t want to talk about the stuff with my sister at all anymore. I’m just saying the things she was saying to me, versus on camera, were very different, and I’m sure the things she was saying to Kathy were very different too,” Kyle noted. “And I like someone who’s the same person across the board.”

As for Sutton, she opened up about her BravoCon drama with Kathy, noting it took place during a phone call. During the latest RHOBH episode, Sutton said Kathy had gotten a bit upset with her as Kathy felt Sutton didn’t defend her in the press.

“She was yelling at me.’ Kathy’s scary. And I said, ‘Look, Kathy, we’re friends. I love you.’ And she said, ’Sutton, I’m sorry for yelling at you,’” she revealed. “And it was five minutes later … I told the story to Kyle. Kyle goes, ‘How did you get her to calm down?’ I said, ‘I just talked to her.’ It wasn’t rocket science.”

After Sutton insisted she’s “not scared of Kathy Hilton in the least,” she pointed out that she’s known Kathy “way” longer than she’s known Kyle and looked back at the season 12 reunion, which saw Kyle and Kathy’s relationship at a low.

“At the reunion when [Lisa Rinna] said, ‘You said that Sutton and Crystal were pieces of sh*t,’ and I told Kathy this. I said, ‘If you said that, It’s okay. It doesn’t bother me. Because if you’re angry and you’re going on a rant, and you just say something like that, you don’t mean it. You’re out of your mind,’” Sutton revealed, noting that Kathy “can be real mean.”

“It was dark,” she added.

But Dorit disagreed.

“Do I think Kathy has a temper? Yes. Do I think she can be scary? Sure. I think Kathy would even admit to when she gets angry, she can be scary. But I’m not sure I would use the word dark,” Dorit stated.

Dorit also pointed out that while she was invited to Paris Hilton‘s wedding in November 2021, Sutton, who claims to be so close to Kathy, was not present.

“I don’t remember her being invited to Paris’ wedding. I was there, and I don’t remember Sutton being there,” Dorit shared.

Meanwhile, Crystal was equally skeptical of their supposed-years long friendship.

“I’ve known Kathy for 17 years [and] I never saw Sutton before,” Crystal revealed. “But I will say, I talk to Kathy quite often, and she always says how much she loves Sutton. So I think their friendship got closer throughout the last couple of years.”

Continuing to insist that she and Kathy are genuine friends, Sutton said she “[loves]” Kathy’s children.

“Paris and Nicky are beautiful girls. I know them differently. I know Paris in a sweatshirt and sweatpants,” she explained. “[And] I don’t need anyone to invite me to come to parties. People want to come to my parties. That’s a fact.”
