‘Big Bang Theory‘ star and comedian Kate Micucci reveals she has been diagnosed with lung cancer, noting the diagnosis has come as a total shock being that she has “never smoked a cigarette in my life” beforehand.

Over the weekend, 43-year-old Kate Micucci took to her official account on TikTok and shared the scary medical news with her fans. In her video posted to TikTok on Saturday (December 9), Micucci revealed that she had undergone surgery to remove all of her lung cancer and is currently recovering in the hospital. She also noted that she is very thankful that doctors were able to detect the cancer early.
As her video began, Micucci joked, “Hey, everybody. This is not a TikTok, it’s a SickTok.” She continued to update that despite never smoking a cigarette ever, she was still diagnosed with lung cancer. She explained, “I’m in a hospital. But it’s because I had lung cancer surgery yesterday. They caught it really early. It’s pretty weird because I’ve never smoked a cigarette in my life. So, it was a surprise. But also, I guess it happens. And so the greatest news is they caught it early. They got it out. I’m all good.”

Kate Micucci continued to update, “But it’s been a little bit of a trip, and I’ll probably be moving slow for a few weeks, but then I’ll be back at it. Can’t wait to be painting more… Which I’ll be painting soon, I think.”
After giving fans her initial update, the video cuts to Micucci walking in the hospital corridor with her IV machine, and a technician alongside her, spotting her as she walks. With the camera on her, Micucci throws a thumbs up before noting the nice artwork on the hospital corridor walls.

The ‘Big Bang Theory‘ star said, “I gotta say the artwork here is pretty nice.” The video finally cuts a third and final time and shows the actress in bed with her breakfast. She is seen smiling while holding up a small box of Frosted Flakes in her right hand and a ripe yellow banana in her left hand.
Kate Micucci also replied to fans in her comment section on her TikTok video. One fan asked, “What made you go in to get it checked out? was it a general check-up? or were there symptoms?” Micucci said, “I had one thing in my bloodwork that came back really high. So I went to a preventative doc who did a few scans. He scanned my heart and that’s where the spot in my lung was noticed.”
Another fan asked, “Can I ask what exactly was really high? Thank you for sharing!” Micucci said, “It was HCRP… not sure what that is exactly but I guess it means there is inflammation somewhere.”
