The Italian dance music virtuosos, who were named to the EDM.com Class of 2021, are renowned for their singular live performances, wherein they sing, DJ and play an array of instruments. With their hypnotic vocals, tribal drums and rhythmic beats, they’ve performed in many stunning locations, like Iceland’s Fagradalsfjall Volcano.
Distinguishing Giolì & Assia among the most authentic performers in the scene, the handpan and its calming tones have become the duo’s signature despite the instrument’s typical use in meditative spaces.

Giolì & Assia’s handpan is produced in Italy from high-quality, rust-proof materials to deliver top-tier durability and sound. They say the instrument, which comes in either black or white, is the byproduct of years of research and experimentation. It comes tuned in B minor, the same key in which Giolì & Assia write many of their songs.
The duo first became fascinated by the handpan six years ago, when they came across videos of street performers using the drum to create tranquil beats. Enthralled by its sounds, they set out to harness its melodic capabilities into their live electronic act. The rest is history, and now they hope to share the magic of the instrument with others.
