In a heartwarming gesture of kindness and generosity, Britni Ricard, CEO of COTA Skin Care and a newly minted landlord, surprised her tenants in New Orleans with an unexpected gift for the holidays. Ricard, who grew up in public housing, understands the struggles faced by single mothers during Christmas and wanted to make a difference in her tenants’ lives. Her act of goodwill has garnered attention and praise, spreading joy and inspiring others.

Ricard’s apartment building in New Orleans houses ten units, many of which are occupied by single women with children. Reflecting on her own childhood experiences, she empathized with the challenges her mother faced during the holiday season. “My mom was a single woman raising three children alone, and watching her continuously struggle as a child and wanting to figure out, ‘How can I help?’”, she explained to CBS News.

In addition to the free rent, Ricard also expressed her willingness to organize a seminar to assist her tenants in their journey towards homeownership.

Various comments under Ricard’s video praised her for showing generosity and empathy towards her tenants. “She’s so amazing, the fact she’s not gatekeeping and want them to be homeowners is top tier ❤️,” one user said.
