More Details Regarding Keke Palmer’s Second Emmy Win

According to Deadline, Palmer took home the Emmy for “Outstanding Host for a Game Show.” The win was for Palmer’s role as a host on NBC’s new television series, ‘Password.’

The show’s official webpage explains that the series pairs Jimmy Fallon and other celebrities with contestants “to face off in the ultimate game of words.”

Additionally, Deadline reports that Palmer beat ‘Jeopardy!’ hosts Ken Jennings and Mayim Bialik, ‘Family Feud’ host Steve Harvey, and ‘Wheel of Fortune’ host Pat Sajak.

The win makes Palmer the first woman to win the award in 15 years. The outlet reports that fellow female host Meredith Vieira won the accolade in 2009 for ‘Who Wants To Be A Millionaire?’

Furthermore, Palmer is also the first Black woman to be nominated in the category and win.

The Actor Reacts As Social Media Chimes In

According to Deadline, Palmer gave an acceptance speech at Sunday’s ceremony in downtown Los Angeles, California.

“Wow. That is so exciting thank you so much. I’m really just so thankful, I’m almost speechless. I want to thank the people who allowed this to happen, thank you to Jimmy Fallon, thank to NBC,” she reportedly said.

Additionally, the actor also took to Instagram to share additional sentiments.

“Couldn’t do it without you @jimmyfallon! I’m so grateful for the opportunity to be apart of such a classic game show such as Password. It’s a true honor, I won! I’m excited, BOOTS! Thank you to the @televisionacad…” she wrote.

Furthermore, social media users also chimed in to congratulate Palmer on her win in The Shade Room’s comment section.

Instagram user @in.yourdreams wrote.

“Always stay gracious..The best revenge is your paper 🔥”

While Instagram user @agyeitate added.

“She has mastered the skill to remain sane and relevant throughout all these years! From being the highest paid child actor on Nick to Emmy Award winning actress. I have to Stan!”

Keke Palmer’s Emmy Win Arrives Amid Abuse Allegations With Her Ex

To note, this isn’t Palmer’s first Emmy win. In 2021, the actor took home the gold for “Outstanding Actress In A Short Form Comedy Or Drama Series,” per the award show’s official website.

However, Palmer’s most recent win arrives amid a public dispute with her ex-boyfriend, Darius Daulton Jackson.

Their feud popped off in July 2023 when Jackson publicly chastised Palmer for wearing a cheeky outfit to Usher’s residency concert in Las Vegas.

In November, Palmer was granted a temporary order of protection against Jackson after alleging that he was physically abusive toward her. Additionally, she sought sole legal custody of their infant son, Leo, per The Shade Room.

Jackson immediately denied Palmer’s claims. However, he has also filed a restraining order against the actor, accusing her of physical abuse as well.

At this time, Jackson has not publicly commented on his ex’s historic Emmy win. However, he did take to X, formerly known as Twitter, earlier this month to share a message about “trauma” and people who “always play victim.”
