The final season of the fan-favorite series Cobra Kai is finally on its way, and one of the show’s creators is teasing one surprise. The show follows the aftermath of the Karate Kid films, catching up with the stars of the originals movies, Daniel LaRusso (Ralph Macchio) and Johnny Lawrence (William Zabka), who gave fans another perspective on the way the original stories played out. We’ve gotten to see them return to the world of karate, battle old nemeses, and even bury the hatchet and come together as a force for good. It’s been a blast, especially with the return appearances of all the characters from the past, and it looks like at least one more surprise is in store.

In a recent post on X, a fan asked one of the show’s co-creators, Jon Hurwitz, “Without naming names, how likely are we to see a new appearance from one of the 4 Karate Kid movies?” They included a not so subtle picture of Mr. Miyagi with the character Julie Pierce, played by Oscar-winner Hilary Swank, in the 1994 film, The Next Karate Kid. The two characters are show in the pic with a Hawk, and the OP added, (Thinking about the hawk obviously).

Hurwitz responded, teasing:

“I can’t promise the hawk or any Oscar winners in this photo – I will never give potential spoilers – but rest assured we’ll have at least one character from the Karate Kid films return that hasn’t yet appeared on Cobra Kai.”

It has been speculated that Swank was the final piece in the Karate Kid lore remaining to visit the series. I think it would be a lot of fun to see her return to the character. This show has been such a love letter to the original movies. It will be sad to see it go, but it’s told a really fun story, and I think it’s going out on a high note.

Check out the post below, and watch Cobra Kai season 6 when it hits Netflix later this year.
