Discourse on social media has led to a petition aimed at a popular print-on-demand service to stop selling a t-shirt with the offensive slogan, “Eat, Sleep, Rape, Repeat.”

For those who are unaware, the phrase is a repulsive spin on the lyrics from Fatboy Slim’s iconic electronic song, “Eat, Sleep, Rave, Repeat.” Earlier this year, a photo of a man in an airport wearing the shirt was captured and shared across a number of social media platforms, including Reddit and X (formerly Twitter).

After some light sleuthing, users were able to find the shirt on the website for the Tampa-based print-on-demand platform Viralstyle. The company has since removed the product from their storefront and claimed that it was uploaded by a third-party user, The Mirror reports.

However, a cursory Google search reveals many more storefronts continuing to sell shirts with the phrase. “To market, promote and make profit out of the sale of this ‘design’ is shameful,” reads a petition launched on Change.org.

This isn’t the first time the vile slogan has made headlines. In 2015, a Reddit post went viral for calling out someone who wore the garment at Coachella, leading to ubiquitous backlash.

According to the Rape, Abuse & Incest National Network, one in six women have been a victim of an attempted or executed rape in the United States. You can find more information, statistics, resources and donation options on the organization’s website.
