#Socialites, get into this: the sexual assault lawsuit against singer-songwriter Trey Songz has been dismissed for the third and most likely the final time…
A judge recently ruled in favor of Songz, stating that the plaintiff in the case failed to respond to his motion to dismiss, leading to the dismissal of the case entirely. This lawsuit, originally filed in June, alleged that Songz exposed a woman’s breast without her consent during an event at a Connecticut casino in 2013. Despite multiple amendments to the complaint, the judge ultimately dismissed the case due to the statute of limitations and the lack of response from the plaintiff.
As previously reported, the lawsuit against the singer was initially brought forward in 2022 through a demand letter, but it was not officially filed until the summer of 2023. The woman, who filed the lawsuit under the name Jane Doe, claimed that Songz had pulled out her breast from her bathing suit top during a “Foxwoods Liquid Sundays with Trey Songz” event. She further alleged that there was video evidence to support her claim. Seeking a settlement out of court, she initially demanded over $5 million from the singer, but when he did not comply, she proceeded with a civil lawsuit.
Legal Proceedings:
The plaintiff amended her original complaint in July and again in September. In response, Songz filed a motion to dismiss, arguing that the statute of limitations had expired, thus barring her claim. The judge granted the motion but allowed the plaintiff another opportunity to amend her complaint. However, her renewed claims closely resembled the earlier ones, prompting Songz to file another motion to dismiss on December 29. Unfortunately, the plaintiff failed to respond to this motion, leading to the judge’s decision to dismiss the case once again.

Trey has previously denied any wrongdoing, “This is yet another example of decade-old allegations being repurposed into a federal case to take advantage of California’s constitutionally questionable new look back window. We look forward to vindicating Trey on the merits in court.”
With the dismissal of the sexual assault lawsuit against Trey Songz, the case has come to a close, at least for the time being. Despite the allegations made by the plaintiff, the judge ruled in favor of Songz due to the plaintiff’s failure to respond to his motion to dismiss. It is important to note that Songz and his team have consistently denied the allegations from the very beginning. As this legal battle concludes, it remains to be seen if any further developments will arise in the future.
