Candace Owens is terrified of what? The controversial commentator is trending again as she reveals her fear of being “terrified to see a woman flying a plane.”

During a recent episode of her ‘Candace Owens Podcast‘ released a few days ago, Owens defended racial remarks made by Turning Point USA founder Charlie Kirk, who said he would immediately question a pilot’s credentials if he saw the pilot was Black.

Owens, who is a former communications director at Turning Point USA, said, “I said the exact same thing on this show just a couple of weeks ago. I remarked that now — when I even am watching a commercial — if I see a commercial and I see a Black person, a Hispanic person, an Asian person, my thought process is ‘Did they just get this because DEI (Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion)?’ I no longer think the person is qualified.”

She added, “It makes me upset that that’s my thought process when I see a commercial and when I see a movie, is this person actually even a good actor or are they just checking a box? But, unfortunately, that is the reality of what happens when it comes to DEI, and what he is remarking on is true.”

Candace Owens then continued to reveal that she’d be terrified of seeing a woman flying a plane. She admitted, “I would be terrified if I got onto a plane and I saw a woman flying the plane and I know that we have the United CEO saying that he just wants to fulfill a quota. He just wants there to be more women and wants there to be more Black people and he’s not concerned at first with qualifications. That is something that should alarm all of us guys.”

After admitting that she’d be terrified of seeing a female pilot, Candace Owens was dragged online and even had one actual female pilot take the lead on schooling her about women in the sky. On Monday (January 29), Owens released a new episode of her podcast to break down the whole debacle.

Owens said, “I’m trending on Twitter for three days over, really just saying, common sense. Things that should be accepted as common sense — which is that none of us should want to fly in the skies with pilots that have been installed there to fill a DEI initiative. Quite literally, United Airlines CEO came out and said that they just had a magic number that they wanted to hit of DEI pilots. They want to make sure there’s more women. They want to make sure that there is more Black people. Which means that their efforts to employ people — which by the way is fundamentally racist and sexist, judging people by how they look and things of that nature — is really going to harm us as the flyers.”

Candace Owens then started pulling up critical comments on X (formerly Twitter) and reacted to the messages. One tweet was from an actual female pilot, who went by Maz Jovanovich on X. Owens said Jovanovich went “psychotic” in response to her podcast comments and added, “Talk about proving my point about women being more emotional than men. […] I loved this because it just proved my point about women being more emotional.”

Owens continued, “I just can’t imagine a male pilot having an emotional spiral over the fact that I said we should not be enforcing fundamentally racist and sexist policies, least of all when it comes to piloting the sky. Would you want this young women, after she’s have a break down, emotionally spiraling on Twitter? If there was an emergency situation on the plane, do you think that she’s got her emotions under control, when her a 10-second clip from a podcast sent her into a multi-day Twitter spiral?”
