Coachella’s iconic Sahara Tent, which has played home to a myriad of the festival’s most memorable electronic music performances, is undergoing changes in 2024.

The towering Sahara Tent is a cornerstone of Coachella thanks to its many illustrious alumni, including Daft Punk, Skrillex, Kaskade and The Chemical Brothers. The nearly 100-foot tall, hangar-like structure is moving for the 2024 festival and will feature a fresh look.

The stage will be moving from its location next-door to the Eldorado Polo Club to between Avenue 51 and Polo Road, according to Jason Brown, VP of Artist Production at Goldenvoice, Coachella’s organizer.

A video shared by Goldenvoice revealed that construction on the tent began in December 2023 to ensure the upgrades will be fully implemented in time for this year’s festival, which returns over two 2024 weekends: April 12-14 and April 19-21.

Moreover, the revamped Sahara structure will see a significant expansion in size and construction, stretching to an impressive 320 feet and being fortified with sturdy steel. This upgrade from the former 280-foot aluminum structure not only ensures increased durability, but also allows for greater weight-bearing and production capabilities.

Brown also suggested that Peggy Gou will be performing at Sahara for this year’s extravaganza in the desert.

“There’s so much more production elements that we can do,” he said. “So we’re going to be more than ready for an artist like Peggy Gou, who brings whatever she wants to bring to the show.”
