Mason Talbot has returned to House Hats with “Fuck You,” a song for anyone who’s ever been disappointed by someone who didn’t walk the walk they talked.
Oozing with bravado, this unapologetic Bassline track is not your average break-up ballad, throwing shade with its sharp lyrics. Talbot’s raw production mirrors their grit with propulsive bass and a four-on-the-flour rhythm that doesn’t relent.
Meanwhile, our lyricist doesn’t wallow in self-pity, instead giving two defiant middle fingers and delivering her message with a pointed focus on moving forward. In case its title wasn’t a telltale sign, “Fuck You” isn’t about crying over spilt milk—it’s about shaking off the dust and leaving the past behind with a confident stride.
The new track is Talbot’s third release on House Hats. The Floridian house music collective and event organizer was recently featured in EDM.com’s list of best industry leaders in 2023.
