Jennifer Lopez’s New Netflix Movie Gets Release Date, First Look

Mahesh Babu recently made his comeback to the big screen after one and a half years with Guntur Kaaram. The movie was expected to break records, seeing the buzz around it. However, it did not impress much with its box office collection. While the movie did not have a dream theatrical run, it is seemingly a hit on the streaming giant Netflix. Below are the numbers that show how well Guntur Kaaram is doing on OTT.

Guntur Kaaram marked Mahesh Babu’s third collaboration with Trivikram Srinivas after Athadu and Khaleja. The movie competed with three others, such as HanuMan, Saindhav, and Naa Saami Ranga, due to their releases around Sankranthi. According to Sacnilk.com, the film minted $21.76 million at its worldwide box office. The movie was in theaters for around four weeks.

Guntur Kaaram scores impressive views on Netflix

Guntur Kaaram arrived on Netflix on February 9, 2024. Soon after its arrival on the OTT giant, the film’s Hindi and Telugu versions soon ascended to the top 10 list. As per the Deccan Chronicle, the movie has managed to garner a viewership of 3.1 million within three days, including both Telugu and Hindi versions. Across all five languages, the Mahesh Babu starrer has allegedly surpassed 4 million views.

Now, the Telugu version of the movie has allegedly amassed 5.3 million hours of viewing time, while the Hindi version has surpassed 2.8 million viewing hours. In India, the movie’s Hindi version is in third place, while the Telugu version is at number five in the Top 10 list.

Guntur Kaaram’s strong performance on Netflix is a testimony to how some movies do better on OTT than in theaters. Despite a lot of competition, the film has been doing great on Netflix. It would be interesting to see how long the film’s winning streak will continue on OTT.
