A pillow Emily Blunt gave Cillian Murphy on the set of Oppenheimer led to the actor having to get his head glued shut.

Blunt, Murphy and Robert Downey Jr., who are all nominated for Oscars for their roles in the biopic, stopped by Jimmy Kimmel Live! to discuss the film. During their conversation, Murphy opened up about the weight loss he underwent for the part, going to bed hungry and always being cold because of his decreased body fat.

However, Blunt felt that the one thing Murphy needed during production more than anything, even food, was sleep. So, she got him a special pillow.

“He was really luxuriating in this pillow one night, and he woke up in the middle of the night. This is what he told me the next day,” she told the late night host. “And he went to fluff himself back down in the pillow, misjudged where it was and smashed his head open on the bedside table. So, he came to work, and they had to glue his head shut.”

Murphy chimed in, noting that he was shocked when it happened. “I was having a great sleep, and I had this amazing pillow, strange bed, strange table [and] bang,” he explained.

The actor, who portrays father of the atomic bomb J. Robert Oppenheimer in Christopher Nolan’s film, explained that they had been waking up at 2 or 3 a.m. during production, so he called makeup artist Luisa Abel to come to his rescue.

“I just came in, and then she glued my head and covered it all up, and you don’t even see it in the movie, I think,” Murphy concluded.

Oppenheimer was the most-nominated film at the Oscars year, raking in 13 nominations, including best picture. Murphy, Blunt and Downey received nods for acting, while Nolan got one of best adapted screenplay.
