Beau Bridges is set to take on a major recurring role in CBS’ upcoming Matlock series reboot. He will join Kathy Bates and he is replacing Jamey Sheridan, who was previously cast in the series.
Bates takes on the role of Madeline “Matty” Matlock in the show, “a brilliant septuagenarian who achieved success in her younger years and decides to rejoin the work force at a prestigious law firm where she uses her unassuming demeanor and wily tactics to win cases. Matty is assigned to Olympia (Skye P. Marshall), a senior attorney and key rainmaker with a thirst for justice. Olympia’s ex-husband, Julian (Jason Ritter), the son of the head of the firm (Bridges), is intrigued by Matty and her clever skills.”
Bridges plays Senior, “the firm’s managing partner who has an indomitable presence that immediately alters the temperature of any room. The man’s influence reaches far and wide, and although he loves his son, Julian, he might respect his daughter-in-law, Olympia.”
The series comes from Jennie Snyder Urman and also stars David Del Rio and Leah Lewis. It will debut in 2024-25.
