On February 24 and 25, 2024, Lifetime aired a two-part documentary titled Where is Wendy Williams?. According to IMDb, the synopsis of Where is Wendy Williams? reads, “Cameras follow Wendy Williams’ attempt at a career comeback after her hit show’s sudden cancellation as she confronts health and personal issues.”

Reports suggest that this project showcased the recent struggles of the former talk show host. In recent years, Wendy Williams has encountered several financial and health issues. Furthermore, her iconic talk show, The Wendy Williams Show, got canceled in 2022.

Wendy currently lives in a facility under the financial control of a court-appointed guardian. Moreover, none of her family members have unfettered access to her. The only person who can contact the talk show host is her guardian, Sabrina Morrissey.

In recent news, Wendy’s publicist Shawn Zanotti stated that the documentary was “horrible” and that her client would be “mortified.” She even added that she wished that Lifetime never began filming her in the first place. During a conversation with People Magazine, she said, “It’s horrible they would do something like this to her. And for what gain? For what reason?”

Wendy Williams’s publicist, Shawn Zanotti, was unaware that the Lifetime documentary was not celebratory of her career

According to People Magazine, Shawn Zanotti stated that she would have never allowed Lifetime to create the documentary had she known it was not celebratory of her client’s career. Zanotti said, “I would never let Wendy put her name and brand on the line like that ever. She’s an icon. It’s not the story we signed up for and I feel lied to.”

She further stated, “It’s so difficult for me to even watch. Wendy would be mortified.” Zanotti also revealed that she hadn’t interacted with Williams since April 2023.
