What is the best singing scene in a non-musical movie?

Following the early box office success of Dune: Part Two, as well as its critically acclaim, many are wondering whether or not Dune 3 is in the pipeline.

Speaking to CNBC, Legendary Entertainment — who produced both Dune and Dune: Part Two — CEO Josh Grode was asked about rumors of a third film coming from director Denis Villeneuve.

“We have to have all creative stakeholders aligned and support the vision,” said Grode. “I think everybody is very excited and really enjoying this moment and if Denis [Villeneuve] gets the script right and he feels that he can deliver another experience on par with what we’ve just completed then I don’t see why not.”

Following its release over the weekend, Dune: Part Two has already soared to a high box office mark, raking in $81.5 million domestically and $178.5M worldwide, per Deadline. This is good for the biggest opening of 2024 so far.

Villeneuve has also hinted at his hopes to make a third film, based on Frank Herbert’s book Dune: Messiah, noting that work on a script is already underway, but that he has other projects to work on before returning to the world of Dune.

Who’s in Dune: Part Two?

Dune: Part Two is once again directed by Denis Villeneuve from a screenplay he co-wrote with Jon Spaihts. Stars Timothée Chalamet and Zendaya return for the film, as do Rebecca Ferguson, Stellan Skarsgård, Dave Bautista, Javier Bardem, Josh Brolin, and Stephen McKinley Henderson.

Joining them are franchise newcomers Christopher Walken as Emperor Shaddam IV, Florence Pugh as Princess Irulan, Austin Butler as Feyd-Rautha, Léa Seydoux as Lady Margot, and Souheila Yacoub as Shishakli.

“This follow-up film will explore the mythic journey of Paul Atreides as he unites with Chani and the Fremen while on a warpath of revenge against the conspirators who destroyed his family,” reads the synopsis. “Facing a choice between the love of his life and the fate of the known universe, he endeavors to prevent a terrible future only he can foresee.”
