Donald Trump still has some words for Jimmy Kimmel after he called him out for his hosting skills during the Oscars last Sunday.
While making an appearance on Fox News’ media buzz, the former president took the time to address Jimmy Kimmel reading his social media post in front of the audience at the Oscars. “Jimmy Kimmel is—Every night he hits me,” Trump shared. “I guess his ratings are terrible. He’s not a talented guy. I hear he hits me all the time. So I figured I’d hit him because I thought he was a lousy host.”

“He reads exactly what you read,” Trump told Howard Kurtz. “And now the big story is that they all begged him not to do it. ‘Don’t do it.’ He probably—stupidly, you know, he had to act in a short period of time, like minutes, right?”
As we previously reported, Donald Trump shared a message to his Truth Social platform and spoke on how he didn’t like Jimmy Kimmel as a host. Kimmel read the social posts on live television in front of the audience which read: “Has there ever been a worse host than Jimmy Kimmel at The Oscars. His opening was that of a less than average person trying too hard to be something which he is not, and never can be. Get rid of Kimmel and perhaps replace him with another washed up, but cheap, ABC ‘talent,’ George Slopanopoulos. He would make everybody on stage look bigger, stronger, and more glamorous. Blah. Blah. Blah. Make America Great Again.”
Which led Kimmel to respond by saying, “I’m surprised you’re still [up] — isn’t it past your jail time?” After Kimmel’s comments the footage quickly made rounds on social media. In a new interview last Monday, the Oscars host spoke with Kelly Ripa and Mark Consuelos and revealed that he was told to not read the social media posts.

“They’re like, ‘You’ve got a little bit of time’ and I was like, ‘I’m reading the Trump tweet,’ and they’re like, ‘No, no, don’t read that,’” Kimmel said with a laugh, though he didn’t clarify who told him not to bring up Trump’s note. “[I was like] ‘Yes, I am.’”
