Hollywood star Meagan Good recently opened up about her career and relationship with former Marvel star Jonathan Majors.
Appearing on the red carpet of the NAACP Image Awards, the actress shared that she is “in love” and that it is the “happiest I’ve been in a long time.”
Good was seen in the company of Majors, their second award appearance since he was convicted in a domestic violence case against his ex-girlfriend, Grace Jabbari.
Meagan Good On Her Career And Love Life
On the red carpet of the NAACP Image Awards, an “excited” Good gave an update on how she has been faring in her career and love life.
“I’m in love, I’m transitioning, I’m healing, I’m growing [and] I’m getting excited about what’s next,” said Good, who attended the event with Majors, per People magazine. “Yeah, just a lot of things at once.
Speaking further about how she feels, the actress said that this is the “happiest I’ve been in a long time,” although she then noted that “it is like a crazy time in general.”
All things considered, she is taking all that life has to offer in stride, happy and content no matter what.
She added, “I just have peace in my heart, and I have joy in my heart, and I love myself, the skin that I’m in, the season that I’m in, and the growth that’s happening.”
Meagan Good Explains How She Coped With Jonathan Majors’ Legal Crisis
Turning up at the NAACP event was Majors’ second red carpet appearance since he was found guilty of a domestic violence case with his ex, Grace Jabbari, in December 2023.
Throughout the trial, the media spotlight was placed on the couple, who often appeared in the courtroom together.
For Good, going through all that with her man took an emotional toll on her, but being authentic helped her pull through.
“I stay true to myself, and I stay authentic,” Good told the publication. “I know what I know that I know. And in time, everything else just catches up with what you know if you’re true to yourself and you’re authentic.”
She continued, “There’s some things you just gotta be like, ‘I ain’t got time for that. Let me go see what my nephew’s doing. Let me see what my mama’s doing. Let me go see what my man’s doing. Let me go get this job.’”
The Couple Previously Attended An Event To Celebrate Black Entertainers
Earlier in the month, the couple made their first red carpet appearance for the year at the 7th annual AAFCA Special Achievement Awards luncheon in L.A.
The duo was excited about coming out to celebrate filmmaker Deon Taylor of “Fatale” and “Traffik,” who was honored at the event.
“It is important to celebrate just Black entertainers,” Good said, per Extra TV. “People who are bringing their unique view, unique way of sharing, of storytelling.”
“I would say ditto and add just the fellowship, letting everybody know we are here. We make beautiful art,” Majors said, adding more to his girlfriend’s remarks. “And the contribution that’s made to the film landscape is grown by the contributions of many of the people in this room. We are happy to be here.”
At the time, the lovebirds also noted that their relationship was “going great” when asked how they had been fairing since Majors was handed a guilty verdict.
Two Of Jonathan Majors’ Ex-Girlfriends Accused Him of Abuse
Shortly after receiving a guilty verdict, fresh allegations of abuse were brought up against Majors by two ex-girlfriends. A report by The New York Times featured accounts from two women, Emma Duncan and Maura Hooper, who claim to have dated the actor.
Duncan claimed there were instances of physical and emotional abuse during her time dating Majors, while Hooper alleged emotional abuse during their relationship.
In describing their romance, Duncan portrayed Majors as controlling and threatening, leading to her isolation from friends and career aspirations. She said, “You lose your sense of worth. She added: “At first you feel, ‘Oh, I’m being loved, and then you feel, ‘I’m being erased.’”
In response to the allegations, Majors’ lawyer, Priya Chaudhry, revealed in a response to People that the “Loki” star had “toxic” relationships with the women and “did say hurtful things.”
However, Chaudhry denied several claims of physical abuse, stating: “These relationships were between young drama students, and all began with mutual intensity,” with Hooper dating Majors from 2013 to 2015 and Duncan from 2015 to 2019.
Jonathan Majors’ Sentencing Hearing Was Recently Postponed
Majors and Good have been living together in Greenwich Village, New York City, along with their pet canines.
The duo was expected to face the next significant test of their relationship early last month, as Majors was scheduled for a sentencing hearing at the time. However, it was postponed to April 8 after the “Creed III” actor’s lawyers filed a slew of post-conviction motions.
Majors was found guilty of recklessly causing physical injury, misdemeanor assault in the third degree, and harassment in the second degree. Extra charges of misdemeanor assault in the third degree with intent to cause physical injury and misdemeanor aggravated harassment in the second degree turned out not guilty.
According to reports, the actor could face up to a year in jail when his sentencing date finally arrives.
