Katie Maloney reacted to Lala Kent‘s claims of an off-camera tiff on Tuesday’s episode of Watch What Happens Live.
After Lala, 33, suggested that a recently aired spat between them was fueled by something viewers did not see, Katie, 37, addressed her statement while also hinting at reunion drama between them, reacting to Brittany Cartwright‘s split from Jax Taylor, 44, sharing her thoughts on Tom Sandoval‘s apology, and more.
“I’m not entirely sure exactly what she’s talking about, per se,” Katie admitted of Lala’s claims on the March 19 episode of WWHL as Andy Cohen, 55, said the bigger question was whether the ladies had a “falling out after the reunion [they] taped on Saturday.”
“Good question. Um, we, Lala and I, we do have the same fighting style. A year and a half ago, we did have a falling out, before Watch What Happens Live, we came and we talked about that. We said we sorted it out on the plane so I thought that’s what she was talking about because between then and the reunion started filming and all that, we didn’t have anything. So I don’t really know exactly what she’s talking about,” she continued.
As for her friendship with Brittany, 35, Katie said things had been strained between them for some time due to the behavior of Brittany’s now-estranged husband.
“Our friendship has been strained for a while because of Jax. I don’t like that man,” Katie explained, noting that she wasn’t surprised by the couple’s separation.
“I want the best for Brittany and eventually everyone, all of us, get fed up after some time, so good for her,” she stated.
During Tuesday night’s episode of Pump Rules, Sandoval, 41, offered Katie an apology. And like she expressed at the time, she’s still not impressed by it.
“I don’t need it. They’re words. Apologies are just words. Actions,” she said.
When Katie was then asked who hits below the belt more between her and Lala, she replied, “We both have the same fighting style so I think we both equally do.”
Moving on to ex-husband Tom Schwartz, 40, and his love life, Katie confessed to feeling Jo Wenberg was a good match.
“Seeing them together, I’m like, ‘Wow, you guys do mesh,’” she shared.
As for his new girlfriend, Sophia Skoro, 23, Katie has her concerns.
“I wish the best for him. I really want him to find someone special but I told him earlier, I’m like, ‘We don’t date the young ones we just… We have fun with them,’” she explained.
Also speaking of Tuesday’s show, Katie defended Ariana Madix‘s decision not to tell Scheana Shay, 38, about her role on Dancing With the Stars ahead of the announcement.
“She had a very like, locked tight … She couldn’t tell anyone,” Katie reasoned.
Katie then addressed the much-delayed opening of Something About Her, saying that she still wasn’t ready to announce an opening date.
“I don’t wanna say the opening day because … oh for sure [this year]. I told [Andy] at the reunion. You know that it’s coming very soon. So very soon,” she teased.
Later, on the WWHL: After Show, Katie was asked if Sandoval giving Scheana money changed her perspective of him at all.
“No. No. I mean, listen, I guess it’s nice. Everyone likes money, but there’s no such thing as free lunch. I think it’s just, you feel indebted to a person after that and I think it’s just leveraging later on,” she revealed.
Another person wanted to know if she was surprised by how in love Sandoval was with Rachel “Raquel” Leviss, 29.
“Yes, because I kept being like, ‘What about your ex-girlfriend? What about the woman you spent the last 10 years with?’” Katie explained. “[Ariana] said it herself, she’s just like this non-entity, like have you just forgotten about this? You’re hung up on this girl… It grossed me out.”
Regarding the reunion, Katie admitted it was “a departure from last reunion.”
“It was very dramatic… but also, it was, you all dealt with each other without screaming,” Andy noted.
“I did turn to James I’m like, ‘Wow, you’ve been in your seat this entire time. You did not go to the bathroom, you didn’t get up,’” Katie agreed. “Everyone just actually spoke and did not yell and it was pretty like, not tame but everyone used speaking voices, for the most part.”
Katie then gushed over Ariana in Chicago.
“I sobbed. She’s so good. Oh my god, she’s incredible. Incredible,” she stated.
