Erika Jayne is calling out RHOBH co-star Crystal Minkoff for being different when the cameras are off. Plus reveals if she thinks Kyle Richards and Dorit Kemsley will work out their issues.
To start, Erika Jayne shares how Crystal Minkoff is such a different person when the RHOBH cameras aren’t rolling.
“I would like to see more of the Crystal that I know off-camera, on-camera, because she is a lot of fun,” Erika explained to Deadline. “She has a lot of things to say. I wish that she would throw away how she’s being perceived. You have to, at some point, let that go because it will inhibit who you are, and we’re there to give our opinion and be ourselves.”
“Not everything is flattering, and sometimes you’re going to be the only person that has your own view of things,” she continued. “But you have to be comfortable being in that space. You can check a lot of boxes: you can have the house, you can have the clothes, you can have the husband, you can have all of these things… But if you don’t know who you are inside and be willing to stand on that, that doesn’t translate, and that’s not a good housewife.”
The Pretty Mess singer then addressed Kyle Richards and Dorit Kemsley’s ongoing drama.
The two besties have hit a rough patch in their friendship following season 13 of RHOBH.
Throughout season 13 of RHOBH, Dorit questioned Kyle’s marriage issues with her now estranged husband, Mauricio Umansky. Kyle took issue with Dorit questioning her marriage issues on camera, instead of privately.
Their issues bubbled over at the season 13 reunion when Kyle confronted Dorit, who shared the RHOBH OG’s private text messages to producers and Erika Jayne ahead of their sit down on the reunion couch.
On the reunion stage Erika found herself found herself caught In the middle of Dorit and Kyle at the RHOBH season 13 reunion – literally. Erike was awkwardly sat in between Kyle and Dorit during their arguments.
“The [reunion] couch is small, first of all, [and] we’re really kind of stacked in there,” said Erika of the reunion seating situation. “And then to see [them] having this conversation, and my shoulder pads, my ponytail, I literally had to be like… I felt like Homer Simpson [hiding in] the hedge.”
When it comes to Kyle and Dorit’s friendship woes, Erika believes the two RHOBH stars will work out their issues.
“I think that Kyle and Dorit will work their differences out,” she went on. “There are a lot of emotions running around. We all care about each other, even though it may not look like it, and believe me, we all do. There are things that the audience will never know that we know about each other and things that we’ve held on to or kept. No one wants anything bad to happen to anybody, I don’t think — I certainly don’t. But, they need to work that out and I’m sure that they will because they care about each other.”
Meanwhile it seems it may be awhile before Dorit and Kyle are back to being Beverly Hills besties as they have recently taken shots at each other in the press.
While appearing on the March 13 episode of The Skinny Confidential: Him & Her Podcast, Dorit said there was “no way” she couldn’t bring up Kyle’s text message at the reunion, insisting she’s not Kyle’s “doormat.”
Dorit then claimed she never planned to expose Kyle’s private text message.
“I discussed it with [Erika Jayne] in the trailer before the reunion and someone leaked the text message. It was not me,” she explained. “I don’t know who did but I have an idea. Listen, it’s gonna be the powers that be because they’re the ones that had the text message.”
As for Kyle, she recently admitted that she was taken aback when she learned Dorit shared her text message at the RHOBH reunion.
“I was really shocked, honestly. I was really surprised by that,” Kyle admitted during an Amazon Live when asked about Dorit’s shady reunion antics. “Because in all of the years of doing this show—14 years there now—I’ve never, ever shared anything that’s been said to me off-camera or a text that’s off-camera [and] private.”
When asked if she and Dorit were still friends, Kyle said, “Yes, we’re friends,” before admitting, “Right now, it’s not good.”
