As John Janssen currently dates Alexis Bellino, the costar of his ex-girlfriend, Shannon Beador, he has now filed a lawsuit against Shannon for $75,000.
In the lawsuit, filed this Wednesday at the Orange County Superior Court, Shannon’s former partner is accusing the Real Housewives of Orange County star of a breach of oral contract and promissory fraud as he aims to reclaim the $75,000 that he asserts she allegedly owes him.
According to PEOPLE, John, 61, alleges that in early 2022, Shannon, 59, sought his financial assistance, borrowing $40,000 from him through a wire transfer on January 23, 2022, purportedly for a facelift procedure. Later, on May 20, 2023, John alleges that he provided her with an additional $35,000 through a personal check.
John claims Shannon promised to pay him back the loan with interest but has yet to despite his many attempts to get his money back from her in both 2023 and 2024.
He is now suing Shannon for the full amount of the loan, along with accrued interest, costs, and attorneys’ fees.
John’s attorney is also speaking out, telling the outlet that Shannon is now claiming the loan was a monetary “gift” – a claim they are disputing as they state John has proof this was in fact a loan.
Edson K. McClellan of Rutan & Tucker LLP informs states, “Ms. Beador’s defense that Mr. Janssen paid her the $75,000 as a ‘gift’ is completely baseless, as their emails and text messages will demonstrate. Mr. Janssen regrets that Beador’s refusal to repay the loans necessitated the filing of this lawsuit.”
This lawsuit is somewhat surprising as on the Real Housewives of Orange County, some of Shannon’s costars painted a picture of John being reliant on Shannon financially, rather than the other way around.
John and Shannon called it quits in November 2022 following over three years of dating, and shortly after filming ended on the RHOC season 17. The pair sparked rumors that they had gotten back together as they maintained a friendship. But following Shannon’s DUI arrest in September 2023, she later revealed she was no longer on speaking terms with John.

Later, in November 2023, John fueled dating rumors with Alexis, 47, as the two then went public with their relationship a month later. The same month, Shannon admitted she felt “hurt” by John’s decision to date Alexis.
Even more, Alexis was then offered a role on the RHOC, and is currently filming season 18 alongside Shannon.
For the time being, Shannon has yet to publicly respond to this shocking lawsuit.
