Oop! The estranged wife of ‘The Bodyguard‘ star Kevin Costner is now claiming that she is planning on “entering the workforce,” after reports revealed that her $162,000 child support demand got reduced to $63,000 a month.

As we first shared back in June, Costner’s estranged wife, Christine Baumgartner, 49 was initially asking for a quarter of a million dollars in monthly child support for their three children: Grace, 13, Hayes, 14, and Cayden, 16.
Baumgartner — who filed for divorce in May after 18 years of marriage and cited “irreconcilable differences” — said that the $250,000 ask was actually “less than the amount needed to maintain the children in their accustomed lifestyle.” Meanwhile, the 68-year-old actor said his ex could manage with $52,000 a month.

After much back and forth in court, in July, a California Superior Court judge would grant Baumgartner to receive more than $129,000 a month in child support. The judge also denied the Oscar Award-winner’s request to fully settle his child support issues before their November 27 trial date, which will determine if the prenuptial agreement they signed back in 2004 is still valid. Both parties have filed for joint custody of their three kids.
After the $130,000 decision in July, nearly two months later, Baumgartner would have her child support reduced again after Costner continuously alleged that his ex’s desire for more money was driven by her desire for plastic surgery and other expenses unrelated to their three children.

Costner also alleged that she’s been receiving $20,000 in cash from her new boyfriend. However, Baumgartner denies dating a new guy. Subsequently, last week, a judge dropped the $130,000 payout to $63,000.
Since last week’s update, Baumgartner is now claiming that she is looking to further her education and get a job after losing her big child support bid. According to PEOPLE, while appearing in court last week, Costner’s estranged wife, who is now living in a rental that costs $40,000 per month after being kicked from her marital home, testified that she is considering going back to school for a college degree.

Christine Baumgartner said in order to help support herself in the future, “I will look into the steps I need to take and any schooling I need to do, and I will enter the workforce.”
Meanwhile, when Kevin Costner took the stand, he said, “My world’s been a little shook up [since the divorce]. I have to take care of obligations that are already in place, I have a lot of responsibilities I have to take care of. I need to figure out how I’m going to spend more time with the children, walk them through this process. I am going to need to take some time for myself. … I have a lot to contemplate — what I have to do versus what I want to do.”
