Kyle Cooke believes Lindsay Hubbard is going to look like the “biggest fool” for suggesting she was blindsided by Carl Radke when he called off their wedding last August.
Following last week’s episode of Summer House, during which the relationship between Lindsay, 37, and Carl, 39, began to show signs of cracks, Kyle, 41, reflected on Lindsay’s suggestion that she didn’t see their split coming as Carl explained why he sleeps well at night and Lindsay poked fun at his mama’s boy antics while admitting to feeling relieved to have gotten a break from Carl during filming last summer.
“On that beach, there was zero apology or accountability, responsibility from Lindsay,” Kyle noted during the March 28 episode of the Summer House: After Show, looking back at the discussion Lindsay and Carl had after one of their Hamptons arguments.
“I personally have seen some of her interviews leading up to the season and I watch these interviews and I wonder if she remembers that we filmed because I’m like, ‘You are going to look like the biggest fool, claiming you were blindsided, claiming you had a great summer, claiming you guys were in a good place,’” he continued.
According to Kyle, Lindsay’s claim of being clueless to her and Carl’s issues “confirms that she oftentimes is living in a different reality.”
“She’s gonna kill me for this but there’s just no other way to explain it,” he stated.
Meanwhile, Carl confessed to thinking he was in the wrong — even when he wasn’t.
“You get convinced so much of your behavior that you believe it. I was convinced that I did something wrong that night because she was so adamant I did something wrong,” he explained. “[But] I will look back on this and know that I really felt like I did and tried everything I could, tried to be patient, understanding, gracious, I sleep really well at night because I really feel like I did and tried my best.”
As things between Lindsay and Carl seemingly worsen on Summer House, which was filmed in the months leading up to their breakup, Lindsay criticised her former fiance for running to his mother after fights.
“If I ran home to my father every time we got in a fight, my dad would be like, ‘What?’” she stated. “I will say in that moment, I welcomed a break because we are like on top of each other, spending so much time together… I was like, almost like, relieved to have a break.”
Because Lindsay and Carl fought the first two weekends in the Hamptons, and due to Lindsay’s drug accusations against him, Carl didn’t want to return the following weekend. However, looking back on the situation, Lindsay said Carl often went to see his mom when they weren’t on good terms.
“Usually it’s a flight to his mom’s house, 38-year-old man,” Lindsay stated. “We didn’t have that conversation. He went to Jersey to see his mom and then I went to the Hamptons.”
After hearing what Lindsay had to say about the dynamic between her and Carl, Gabby Prescod, 33, suggested Carl’s habit of running from their issues wasn’t a good sign.
“Don’t you think it’s a sign that he decides to remove himself instead of confronting the situation head-on?” she asked. “You have two bad nights and so you then decide, ‘Instead of talking this through, I’m going to remove myself from the situation?’ It’s like an avoidance tactic to the nth degree. How do you think that since you say yes to marriage, how is that going to go?”
Also on the Summer House: After Show, after Jesse Solomon, 30, wondered why Carl was spending less time with his then-fiance and Ciara Miller, 28, said that their problems stemmed from the fact that Lindsay was drinking and Carl was sober, West Wilson, 28, suggested Lindsay forgets some of the fights they have.
“The combination of someone sober and someone who drinks heavily who is pretty outspoken is I wouldn’t sign up for that I don’t think, I think they fight maybe they’re both mean but Lindsay wakes up, she was drunk, doesn’t feel like that big of a deal, wants to move on, Carl, sober, internalizes everything, remembers everything, and then he’s got a cloud over him the next day and then Lindsay acting like it didn’t happen only makes him more upset,” he suspected.
“They would have a fight and then there’d be like a full day where like just wouldn’t talk about it,” Jesse replied.
Summer House season eight airs Thursdays at 9/8c on Bravo.
