Reshawn Toliver from Kentucky has resigned from her job following a fortunate $90,000 win from a scratch-off lottery ticket. The win gave her a fresh start and the financial freedom to seek new opportunities. After taxes, Toliver netted $64,800, as confirmed by Kentucky Lottery officials.

The surprise came when one of the five $5 Wild Cash Multiplier Scratch-off tickets she bought revealed a winning combination of three “7” symbols, leading to an ecstatic reaction. “I screamed!” Toliver recounted to lottery officials, noting how her loud celebration drew the attention of her boyfriend and son. The thrill of winning significantly more than the anticipated $5 left her momentarily overwhelmed with joy and disbelief. “I needed to calm down. I was lost for a minute. One minute, it’s like breathe, the next minute, it’s like stop laughing. I can hear the scream over and over again in my head,” she explained.

Toliver’s decision to quit her job came from discontent with her previous employment, viewing her lottery win as a divine intervention. “I was unhappy with my job, and God made a way,” she expressed, grateful for the chance to leave behind a job that no longer satisfied her and embark on a search for something more fulfilling. In addition to Toliver’s life-changing gain, Skyline Fuel, the store where she purchased the lucky ticket, was awarded $900 by lottery officials for their role in selling the winning scratch-off, ABC 12 reported.

People also reported that Toliver will search for a new job while enjoying her lottery win.

In a similar stroke of luck, Miriam Long from Virginia experienced her surprising victory when she won $1 million from the Powerball lottery last month. Intending to buy a ticket for the Mega Millions, which had soared to $893 million, Long accidentally selected the Powerball option at a CVS store in Blacksburg due to a mistaken button press. Reflecting on her fortunate error, Long deemed it “the best mistake of my life,” according to Virginia Lottery officials.
