Britney Spears Blames Her Mom While Showing Off Ankle Injury

Pop star Britney Spears took to Instagram on May 2 in order to show off her ankle injury.

Although the incident happened on the same day her divorce was finalized, the 42-year-old pop star did not blame her ex-husband Sam Asghari for the mishap.

Instead, she blamed her mother, Lynne Spears, to the surprise of many, as outlets had reported that the injury had been caused by a fight that she had with her boyfriend, Paul Richard Soliz.

On Thursday night, Britney got emotional while showing off a video of her swollen ankle. “Okay guys, so you know, I really twisted my ankle last night, like an idiot,” Britney begins before quickly adding, “Don’t look at my feet. I need a manicure.”

“It’s so bad. F—ing idiot here tries to do a leap in the living room at the Chateau and I fell and embarrassed myself. And, uh, that’s it,” she continued. “Paramedics came to my door illegally, of course, cause this huge scene, which was so unnecessary when all I needed was ice.”

“It is actually pretty bad, but s— happens,” she said, seemingly bursting into tears at the end of the video.

In the caption of the video, Britney wrote, “I know my mom was involved !!! I haven’t talked to her in 6 months and she called right after it happened before the news being out !!! I was set up just like she did way back when !!!”

It appears that Britney is talking about her public breakdown in 2007, which led to a court-ordered conservatorship that started in February 2008 and lasted until November 2021. “I wish I had grandparents !!! I can’t stand her !!! I honestly don’t care I will say it !!!” she continued.

Britney then seemingly addressed her lawyer, Mathew Rosengart, writing, “Psss this man is wonderful !!! He’s like a father to me and he got me through last night !!! I adore you and admire you mister Mathew !!!”

Earlier on Thursday night, the “Oops!… I Did It Again” singer took to Instagram to tell her followers that the news that she got into a fight with her boyfriend was “fake” and also seemed to deny reports that she had a “breakdown” at the hotel she was staying at on Wednesday night.  Her statement began: “Just to let people know … the news is fake !!! I would like respect at this time for people to understand I am getting stronger everyday !!!”

“Truth sucks so can someone teach me how to lie ??? Goddesses out there, I’m reaching my higher power and furthermore, I hope you guys are too !!! I need a new toothbrush right now PS …I need an espresso !!” she continued.

“PSS …Not sure why I feel the need to share this … guess I’m just a girl and I’m on my period […] I also twisted my ankle last night and paramedics showed up at my door illegally. They never came in my room but I felt completely harassed. I’m moving to Boston !!! Peace.”

On Wednesday night, Britney Spears and her boyfriend, Paul Richard Soliz, were staying at the Chateau Marmont when a woman called police claiming that a woman matching Britney’s description was harassing and threatening hotel employees and guests.

Police arrived on scene, but did not see any signs of a disturbance, and left. Sources told TMZ that, after officers arrived, Britney and Paul went to their hotel room, where they allegedly got into a “fight” that caused Britney to get hurt.

Insiders told the outlet that Britney made her way out into the hotel room, where she was screaming and “out of control.” Hotel guests called the paramedics, fearing that the pop star was having a “breakdown.”

According to the outlet, the paramedics made contact with Britney – not at her hotel room – but outside the hotel, where she was photographed draped in a blanket and carrying a pillow. Britney reportedly did not get into the ambulance and left with security, leaving Paul Richard Soliz at the hotel.

On May 1, Britney’s lawyers submitted a Stipulated Judgement to a judge. On May 2, a judge signed off on the divorce and declared that Britney and Sam will be legally single as of December 2, 2024, which marks Britney’s 43rd birthday.

The former couple met in 2016 on the set of her “Slumber Party” music video and proceeded to date for several years. The two tied the knot in June 2022, only a few months after her controversial 13-year conservatorship was struck down by a judge in November 2021.

However, in August 2023, Sam filed for divorce citing “irreconcilable differences” as the reason for the split. He listed the original date of separation as July 28, 2023; however, according to the latest filing, the date of separation was updated to July 30, 2023.

Due to the prenup, Britney is not going to pay spousal support to Sam Asghari.
