The unlikely rise of the sexy ‘9-1-1: Nashville’ fireman

#Socialites, would you get a load of this! Ashton Kutcher and Mila Kunis are sending out a public apology to their fans after it was made public that they sent letters to the judge of Danny Masterson’s sexual assault trial, in which they call their “That ’70s Show” co-star a “role model.”

The couple posted a video to Kutcher’s Instagram page this Saturday and said, “We are aware of the pain that has been caused by the character letters that we wrote on behalf of Danny Masterson,” Kutcher explained. “We support victims. We have done this historically through our work and will continue to do so in the future,” Kunis added.

Breaking down their support for their former co-star, they went on to share that they wrote the letters to “represent the person that we knew for 25 years.” “The letters were not written to question the legitimacy of the judicial system, or the validity of the jury’s ruling,” Kunis says. “They were intended for the judge to read and not to undermine the testimony of the victims or re-traumatize them in any way,” Kutcher also explained. “We would never want to do that, and we’re sorry if that has taken place.”

What Did Their Letter Say?

Kutcher’s letter read in part, “Danny takes his job seriously. He is kind, courteous, and hard-working. He treated everyone from the grips to the teamsters to the actors to the caterers as equals. As a role model, Danny has consistently been an excellent one…” Meanwhile, In Kunis’ letter, she referred to Masterson as an “amazing friend, confidant, and, above all, an outstanding older brother figure. His genuine concern for those around him and his commitment to leading by example make him an outstanding role model and friend.”

As we previously reported, Mr. Masterson was handed down a 30-year to life prison sentence in downtown Los Angeles for his alleged crimes.

Masterson was first arrested in June 2020 and charged with raping three women in separate incidents from 2001 and 2003. His first rape trial began in October 2022. However, it was declared a mistrial that November after the jury was unable to reach a final verdict on the three counts. Though a second jury was able to find Masterson guilty of two counts of rape, but didn’t reach a unanimous decision on a third count in a subsequent retrial in May 2023.

As of right now, Masterson is reportedly now under 24-hour surveillance watch as he is in jail, waiting to be transferred to a California State prison. Meanwhile, his wife, Bijou Philips, is reportedly scared that her husband and father of her 9-year-old daughter, Fianna, will be killed while behind bars.

He will be eligible for parole when he is 77 years old.
