In a land impressed by Southeast Asia, Princess Anya’s new husband Prince Devyan is violently kidnapped by three large demons at their marriage ceremony. Anya units out on an epic journey with a rising band of loyal warriors, crossing lethal landscapes and battling horrifying demons. What is going to she sacrifice to save lots of the person she loves?
Quest is the newest Picture Comics sequence from author/artist Jonathan Luna, whose earlier work from the writer embody Alex + Ada (with co-writer Sarah Vaughn), Everlasting Empire (with co-writer Vaughn), and 20XX (with co-writer Lauren Keely). It’s the primary collaboration between Luna and co-writer Crystal Wooden, and Wooden’s first comics work for a significant American writer.
In an announcement saying the sequence, Luna and Wooden described a few of their influences on the ebook, and expressed enthusiasm at collaborating on the sequence:
“One in all my childhood films is Conflict of the Titans (1981), and for such a very long time, I’ve wished to create a narrative that was impressed by it. I don’t need to destroy how precisely, however, in Quest, Anya goes on an arduous journey right into a lethal land of demons to save lots of Devyan,” stated Luna. “And making this fantasy world impressed by the mythologies, landscapes, and architectures of Southeast Asia is what solidified my transferring ahead with this idea. It was the ultimate primary ingredient to the recipe that’s been marinating in my mind for many years. I’m tremendous pleased to have discovered Crystal to create this horror-filled, but fantastically romantic epic with. I hope that Quest can be a sequence that readers will take pleasure in and love!”
Wooden added: “My favourite factor about Quest is how deliciously horrifying and twisted the creatures within the story are. It’s the form of comedian I all the time dreamed of making as a child. However the immersive imagery, the quick paced power, and badass monsters are simply perks. The love for these characters is what is going to pull readers into the Demon Lands with us. The guts of it has all the time been about perseverance and real love. After I bought onboard, I had no concept how epic this story would grow to be, and Jonathan’s paintings and storytelling take it to a different degree. Quest speaks to the wrestle between what’s logical and what feels proper in your coronary heart. This venture is one thing actually distinctive and that’s exceedingly uncommon lately. I can’t wait to point out everybody the way it ends.”
