Marshmello is joining forces with Latin Grammy Award-winning production duo Tropkillaz for a new EP, MELLOKILLAZ.
Ever the musical chameleon, Marshmello hasn’t been shy about his foray into the sultry sphere of Latin dance music. He recently released “Esta Vida, a high-profile collaboration with chart-topping reggaeton and merengue star Farruko.
When that track dropped, Mello’s team issued a press release stating “these Latin collaborations mark a new era of Spanish music releases” for the masked dance music superstar. He’s now twisting the knife into his new direction, teaming up with São Paulo’s Tropkillaz for MELLOKILLAZ, due out on June 16th.
The announcement follows last week’s release of “Solteiro Sou Um Perigo,” the EP’s first single, a blistering blend of trap and funk mandelão. Raw, minimalistic and packed with deep bass, the funk mandelão genre is making serious noise out of Brazil’s Praia Grande.
