Warning: SPOILERS ahead for The Walking Dead: Dead City episode 5!A new trailer for The Walking Dead: Dead City episode 6 teases tensions between Maggie and Negan coming to a head as the pair try to rescue Hershel in the season finale. The end of The Walking Dead: Dead City episode 5 revealed Maggie had Negan come with her to Manhattan so she could trade him with The Croat for Hershel. Ginny caught Maggie in a lie about food being stolen from the Hilltop, and was last seen setting off a flare to warn Negan about Maggie’s true intentions.
Now, The Walking Dead (via WotNot) has released a new trailer for The Walking Dead: Dead City episode 6, showing tensions between Maggie and Negan reaching a breaking point.
While the trailer reveals the two have reunited to rescue Hershel, it also teases a knife fight between the pair on a boat. The trailer ends with an ominous line from Negan, where he claims, “I am not who you think I am.”
How Will Dead City Season 1 End?
The Walking Dead: Dead City episode 5 set up a major confrontation between every key character in the series. It’s likely Negan will be drawn to the flare gun Ginny set off, and The Croat may not be so far behind. With Ginny now knowing Maggie wants to trade Negan for Hershel, Ginny will likely warn Negan about Maggie’s plans, setting up the conflict between the pair as teased in the final trailer.
However, while Maggie lied to Negan about The Croat stealing food alongside Hershel from the new Hilltop, Hershel is still very much in danger while The Croat has him. Negan has shown throughout The Walking Dead: Dead City that he wants to prove to Maggie that he’s grown as a person since killing Glenn. While a conflict between Maggie and Negan will ensue, Negan might give himself over to The Croat as a sign of how much he’s changed, reuniting Maggie and Hershel.
However, it doesn’t seem like The Walking Dead: Dead City episode 6 will be the end of The Walking Dead’s newest spinoff. The Walking Dead: Dead City season 2 was seemingly confirmed by Ginny’s actress, Mahina Napoleon, before season 1 aired. This means the upcoming episode may not finish Maggie’s conflict with The Croat, but instead tease a new one brewing between her and Negan. Whatever happens, it seems The Walking Dead: Dead City will confront some major revelations in the season finale.
