Four months since filming wrapped on Hellboy: The Crooked Man, Deadline brings word that Ketchup Entertainment has successfully acquired the worldwide distribution rights to Millennium Media’s upcoming reboot of the dark fantasy film franchise. However, it’s currently unclear when will the company decide to release Hellboy: The Crooked Man.

“We are very excited by this latest acquisition, this film holds a special place in the hearts of fans worldwide and we are committed to preserving and building its legacy as we bring the film to fans and new audiences,” Ketchup Entertainment CEO Gareth West said in statement. “We are confident that our collaboration with Jeffrey Greenstein and the exceptional team at Millennium Media will enable us to achieve just that.”

What to Expect in the Hellboy Reboot?

“Stranded in 1950s rural Appalachia, Hellboy, and a rookie BPRD agent discover a small community haunted by witches, led by a local devil with a troubling connection to Hellboy’s past: the Crooked Man,” reads the film’s synopsis.

The Crooked Man is directed by Brian Taylor (Crank) from a screenplay written by Hellboy comic book creator Mike Mignola and Chris Golden. The reboot stars Jack Kesy, Jefferson White, Adeline Rudolph, Joseph Marcell, Leah McNamara, Hannah Margetson, and Martin Bassindale, with Kesy portraying the new live-action version of titular anti-hero. The character was formerly portrayed by Ron Perlman in the Guillermo del Toro adaptation and David Harbour in the 2019 reboot.

The film hails from Millennium Media, Dark Horse Entertainment, A Nu Boyana Production, and Campbell Grobman Film. It is produced by Mike Richardson, Jeffrey Greenstein, Jonathan Yunger, Les Weldon, Rob Van Norden, Sam Schulte, and Yariv Lerner. Executive producers are Mike Mignola, Avi Lerner, Trevor Short, Boaz Davidson, Tanner Mobley, Lati Grobman, Christa Campbell, Michael Muellner, and Julia Muentefering.
