Busta Rhymes has taken to social media to give honor to his late father Trevor Smith Sr. on his birthday.

On Saturday (September 16), Bus-A-Bus posted a heartfelt message on Instagram about the impact his father made on his life in the time that he was on Earth.

“Happy Bday Daddy!!,” Busta Rhymes said. “I’m having the most amazing time of my life and I’ve never known happiness and peace of mind like this until the changes that have been made that needed to be made for me to be able to experience it in this way. Your presence is always felt in everything that I’m doing and I know that you have a lot to do with me being in this amazing space in my life as well.”

He continued: “Everything has felt so incredibly Blessed Everyday. Thank you Daddy. You are truly missed so much. There a lot of the amazing things happening today on your Bday that we gotta Celebrate. I guess you got a lot to do with that too huh.

“Thank you for everything you have instilled in me. I love you Eternally Dad. Rest King Rest. Happy Bday Again Daddy.”

In addition to his touching tribute, Busta also posted a few photos of his father in his heyday.

Smith passed back in January 2014, according to Hollywood.

The “Touch It” rapper has never been one to hold back his earnest feelings about his rap contemporaries, fans, and his family.

Back in August, during interview on Hot 97’s Ebro In The Morning, he emotionally recalled a time in which himself and Chris Brown performed their 2011 hit single, “Look At Me Now” featuring Lil Wayne.

“When me and Chris Brown performed ‘Look At Me Now’ at BET when Lil Wayne did not do it with us, I missed my son’s high school graduation, my oldest son’s,” he explained. “I came home from that and he was upset, and Greenhouse was still open. I threw a party for him at Greenhouse and I had Jim Jones perform, and Ace Hood perform, and I performed. He was happy about the party but he still wasn’t happy about me missing his high school graduation.”

He added: “I lived with that shit for a long time. And it didn’t matter how much I wanted to say sorry, I knew that it wouldn’t be enough.”

Later in the interview, Busta Rhymes spoke about how missing important moments in his children’s lives affected him, but now he’s arrived at a place where he’s “happy” because his sacrifices have paid off.
