Bijou Phillips Files For Divorce From Danny Masterson – What Happened To Her Believing He’s Innocent??

Did Bijou Phillips have a change of heart??

In a shocking turn of events, the 43-year-old filed for divorce from her convicted rapist husband Danny Masterson on Monday, per court docs acquired by TMZ.

Whaaaaat?! Weren’t we JUST hearing about how “in love” with him she still is?? And how she believed he was innocent and was visiting him constantly??

The mother of one’s attorney Peter A. Lauzon told the outlet on Tuesday:

“Ms. Phillips has decided to file for divorce from her husband during this unfortunate time. Her priority remains with her daughter. This period has been unimaginably hard on the marriage and the family. Mr. Masterson was always present for Ms. Phillips during her most difficult times of her life. Ms. Phillips acknowledges that Mr. Masterson is a wonderful father to their daughter.”

Well, that certainly was a lawyerly answer. As to where Bijou’s head is really at?

JUST last week, a source told DailyMail.com that The Bridge to Nowhere actress wanted to “be there for her husband” despite his hefty 30-year prison sentencing, and that she was visiting him “daily” in jail. The insider added that she was “eager” to appeal, hoping the tides would shift, and that the two had the money to keep the legal fights going… That was all contingent on her believing his innocence, though, which a separate source had previously told the outlet she did — saying she “completely trusts he never did what he was charged for.”

So what exactly happened? Are we missing something here?! What kind of conversations have they been having since last week?? They can’t exactly bode well for the That ‘70s Show star… Not that he was in a great position to begin with.

WOW. We’re getting whiplash from how fast this situation shifted! We thought her support might eventually wane, but certainly not THIS quickly. Did she find something out? Something that made her finally believe the accusations against him? Did he confess to her??

It could, however, just be a matter of practicality on both their parts… He may NEVER get out of prison. Literally. Maybe he just told her to move on??

Apparently, the Hostel 2 star listed their date of separation as “TBD,” citing “irreconcilable difference” in the legal docs. She’s seeking spousal support, attorney’s fees, and and to legally drop Masterson’s last name. She also wants legal custody of their 9-year-old daughter Fianna — but wants to allow visitation.

It all sounds like such normal divorce stuff, doesn’t it? Huh.
